To help cut costs, Seth and I have been doing some research trying to figure out what we can do. We’ve seen things from lighting a bunch of candles to bundling up and lowering the thermostat. I definitely did not want to do that one. As we were looking, we ran across this amazing little invention by Dylan Winter. This homemade heater is completely ingenious and as soon as Seth wakes up from his nap, we are taking a little trip to the store!
Here is what you need to make your own homemade heater:
Small Bread Pan
4 Tea Lights
Empty Tea Light Tin
Smaller Flower Pot
Larger Flower Pot
How it works:
Start by lining up your four tea lights in the bottom of the bread pan and lighting them. These create some heat. Place the smaller flower pot on top of the bread pan with the empty tea light tin on top of the hole in the flower pot. This will trap all of the hot air inside the core. Put the bigger flower pot on top of the smaller one and let it heat up the room. The four tea lights will last about four hours before you have to change them. Keep this homemade heater out of reach of small children and animals as it does get very warm.
