To just shoot it to you straight, I’m going to go over 10 quick reasons why you should get a greenhouse in your urban homestead today. It’s important that we all share information with each other and that we spread the word on greenhouses because more and more people everyday are making the amazing switch to sustainable living. This is a movement that needs to be supported, so please share.
#1 Sustainable Living
You know I’m sick and tired of the man dictating to us what we should eat. The food you get from the grocery store cant be trusted and everyone knows that. Why cant we trust the food at grocery stores you may ask? Well that’s an easy one, if I bought my food from Vietnam where there is not food regulations there, would you trust my food then? Of course not, it’s disgusting .
#2 Organic Non-GMO non-Hybrid
Personally I’m having my first kid. My wife is about 8 weeks pregnant and I want only the best for my wife and my child. I want them to eat organic because I know that they’re getting the right about of nutriants without the toxic GMO and hybrid seeds that plague over 80% of the fields here in Nebraska. Now I cant vow for other states but Nebraska’s GMO fields RIDICULOUS at best.
Who said that urban homesteading cant be profitable? You can always grow a little extra whether it’s on purpose or inadvertently I urge you to not let your organic food go to waste. I’d rather buy the organic food from Bob down the street that the farmer out in Vietnam. It’s completely possible to do and really easy, just make sure you’re follow the laws of your city, state, and nation before you proceed to sell your goods.
#4 Year Round Vegetables
To the person who wants to down me and says “you cant grow vegetables in harsh winters! It’s impossible!” Please get the hell off my website right now, get on Google and o some research. I’m not saying that those people are wrong, however if you’re a determined and stubborn SOB like me, you’re going to find a way. Buy a well insulated greenhouse and a heater and you’re good to go.
#5 Save a Bundle of Money
I know I just mentioned that you can make money by growing your own plants, but if you’re looking to save money and be more frugal with your finances than building a greenhouse might just be the ticket. Greenhouses are an amazing source of income and money saving, especially when you have a really good harvest.
